It always amazes me how many people read the essays I post here, but more than that, it amazes me how many people are willing to take action on the the things I write. Club Thievey is a tangible example of this force being used for great good. That I and one of my engineers now have tickets to WWDC is a smaller, albeit no less amazing, example. Thanks to Jott Networks and Scott Guelich for their help there.
There’s no denying I’ve achieved a certain amount of fame in the monkish pursuit of my career, my work on the now shipping Delicious Library 2, and the effort I’ve put into my blog and my charity fundraising. As is my wont, I intend to capitalize on this public esteem to benefit my cause and to give back to the community.
One project to that effect is my company’s “Summer of iPhone” program, which pays you to spend the summer with my team in Palo Alto, building your dream iPhone app. The deadline for entries is June 6. More details are available toward the end of my last entry.
The next project is something I’m calling “Be my Chest.” (What can I say — I’ve never been able to pass up a pun, nor a Simpsons reference.) The idea is simple: your company makes a tax-deductible donation to the Madagascar Fauna Group — A 503(c) nonprofit — and in exchange I’ll wear your T-shirt for one day of WWDC.
You must provide me with a T-shirt, size 2XL, which I will wear during the day’s regular program and, at my discretion, during evening activities. You may optionally have an hour lunch with me, my treat, on the day I wear your shirt. During said lunch we may talk about anything you like, including help designing your product.
If you’re interested, send me email (mike at this domain). If I somehow have more than five inquiries, I’ll put together an auction. Otherwise, we’ll just make arrangements privately.

Ash Ponders I’ll donate 300 bucks, if you’ll wear 2 pasties for a day at WWDC. Lunch’ll be on me :).
